In order to increase the practice opportunities for international students, enrich their campus life, and help them perceive the changes in the new era of China, the international students majoring in Logistics Management have launched a unique practical class at Alibaba Group on May 9th under the leadership of Prof. Wu Bei and Prof. Li Xiulin.
With the bright sunshine and the laughter all the way, they arrived at Alibaba Group. The first stop was the “Hello Orange Lane” (Qinchengli) at the Ali Offline Shopping Center. The international students visited the famous brand stores such as Hema Fresh Store, Taobao Selected (Taobao Xinxuan), Tmall Global, and TmallGenie Pavilion of Future. What’s more, they personally experienced various payment methods and some applications of new technologies such as face recognition. In this “experimental field” of new retail, our international students have closely perceived new retail ecosystem which set Internet and Internet of things in one and have learnt a lot through practice.
After that, they walked into the office building. The teacher of Ali Crowdsourcing introduced the enterprise culture and development process of Alibaba Group. Especially, He listened and answered carefully to the students’ questions and communicated with them. The atmosphere in the meeting room was warm and everyone enjoyed it. Finally, under the guidance of the staff, the international students visited the various areas of Alibaba and experienced more about the charm of this unique enterprise.
The next day of the event was May 10, coincided with the 14th Ali Day of Alibaba Group. Organizing this practical class activity at this special time helped international students feel the development of Alibaba so deeply that they can perceive the new development of Zhejiang province in the miniature of Ali’s development and have a more concrete and real understanding of Hangzhou, which is always at the forefront of reform and innovation.
This activity made each international student not only learn about company with their professional knowledge but also experience the charm of Zhejiang's new development. By taking the form of entering companies, the international students' understanding of Chinese culture and Zhejiang culture and the sense of belonging to Hangzhou was strengthened. What’s more, they have personally experienced the development and changes brought about by the 40th anniversary of Reform and Opening up Policy, and perceived the new era of China.
